Seeing double

Recently, a member put forth the suggestion that to make our gardens grow faster we should add some fertilser. That is, we should make two (2) a month for our partner. Many people responded and thought this was a good idea so I am happy to make two a month starting in March. Don't feel pressured to make more than one. We want our gardeners to be happy. Who knows I might be inspired to make three!

  1. Hi Jane,
I'm happy to make two... could you please clarify: Are we making TWO for the same person on our regular (and fantabulously organized by you) schedule? Or are we making ONE flower for TWO different people?

  2. Thanks Kristin for asking that question...I was thinking it was one flower to 2 different people...Either way it is fine by me...

  3. I hope it is 2 flowers to the same person LOL. I would have to revisit my swap assignments and reshuffle and make sure I did not double up.

  4. Good idea, 2 for the same person saves a lot of organising but doubles our quilt growth!!

  5. I think, we alle have to agree whether we swap one or two blocks :-).
I also understood, that it was ment to be flowers to two different people, so that we could swap a flower with everyone within 2 years instead of 4 years - and Jane, I know this will make LOTS of work for you and I already find you do a great job for us organizing this swap.
I think, it will put presure on a swapper, if she recieves 2 blocks from one person, if she only want s to swap one block a month.
    Have a nice weekend :-)

  6. Anne-Mette has some valid points. Personally, I think swaps should be relaxed. It people want to send one a month or ten then that is fine. It is similar to the guideline of whether to add something extra in the envelope when you send a flower. It is not compulsory and not expected. It saves on postage too if you are sending to only one person. I am happy to do what ever the majority want.

  7. lucky me I made two hexies for my March swap person anyway.I think that if you are going to change it to two people per month then the time to start that is for the July swap. Too much changing of the "roster" is a) too much for Jane to do and b)too much printing out of each "roster" I use scrap paper but the ink!!!!! Am also happy to do what the majority want.

  8. I would prefer not to commit to two a month but will pop in a second hexie to my partner of the month whenever I can.

  9. Hi Jane...Thank you so much,,,you do a fabulous job organising this swap.I agree with you it should be relaxed,,,I am not sure what the others think,,,but instead of you reorganising the rosta..how about we just send a "Thankyou" hexie to the person we have received one from that month,,? That way it will increase our flowers and is a nice way of saying "Thank you."

  10. I'll make two because it's just as easy for me to make two as it is to make one. As some of you know, I'm working on a full sized 1-1/2" hex quilt, so any 1" hexies I cut are for my swapmates. I'm happy to make two, but don't require two in return if that makes sense.

  11. I have thought that it would be nice to swap two as well. I don't mind Kate's idea of sending a thankyou hexie. I am also happy to make two per month for the same person.
I suppose it would have to be agreed on by all.

  12. If I understand these contributions correct, the majority want to send 1, 2 or more to same partner per month. This I OK for me, in spite of my hope, that we could send 2 hexies for 2 different persons per month. Anyway - I agree and hope, that I am still here to finish this swap in 4 years!
