April Hexies

These are the hexie flowers I sent to CanadianKristen.  I know she has received them and liked them which is wonderful.

April's Hexie Flowers

Two lovely pink hexie flowers arrived here yesterday from Shannon W.
Thank you very much for the flowers and postcard from your state :-).

My May flowers are done; but I won't get them in the mail till friday.

April Flowers for Hanne in Denmark

Just a little message for Hanne that the April flowers are on the way to her..Running a bit late because of the Easter break and I neglected to post them before .I do hope everyone had a great Easter break and that the chocolate did not do too much damage...Take care Kate in Oz xx

An April Flower from Janet in Canada.

Two lovely hexie flowers arrived in the post to me this morning. Thank you Janet, they really are lovely.

I am running slightly behind...just need to sew up April's flower and I will be able to get it in the post.

Now are we supposed to be sending two now, or is it optional? The reason I ask is that I would prefer just to make one a month as I have discovered after a break from hand sewing for well over a month, that it really sets of the nerve pain in my right hand/arm/shoulder (I have TOS - Thoracic Outlet Syndrome) However, I don't want to offend people.

Dawn in the UK

I have been flooded with new members who have visited our Flickr site, blog or know someone already in the swap. I will be adding them to the swap list in July. Dawn, one of our new recruits from UK, sent me this picture of two of the lovely flowers she has already made. I love the centres. Welcome Dawn.

Leslie's comings and goings!

Hi!
Today, I sent out my April, May and June Flowers!
Wow it feels great to be ahead of the game for a change!
Two flowers are going to Elizabeth in Australia, Lorraine in England and Lene in Denark.  I hope someone in the group saves stamps from all these different countries... Wouldn't that make for an interesting swap!

I have flowers, one from Bridgette and one from Shurti. Very pretty, I must say!

A little bit ago, I also received on from Eada,

I almost forgot, I made a Welcome Hexie for my friend Linda who joined in the last round.  It is in Civil War reds with a cream centre.
Welcome Linda!
Hey Jane... Almost time for another list.... I know, you don't want to know about it yet.... LOL!
Have a great day!
Leslie

From Frances to Barbara

Frances's very first Hexie  arrived in my letter box today. Who could resist the lovely, fresh colours. Many thanks, Frances. I feel privileged to get the first one.
Thanks also for the Pansy and Butterfly card.  Happy hexie-ing.

are they missing in action

Hi I just wanted to check with Shruti as to whether she received my March hexie flowers. They were sent over a month ago and I haven't had a response to my email about their fate.
Please let me know Shruti as if they didn't get there I will happily make a replacement.
Loving all the flowers everyone has posted.
Marina

Helpful Info

I just had a talk with my Post Master here in the town I live. I have been sending my flowers in yellow envelopes. She asked me to try and remember to take off the metal tabs off the back. They get stuck in the machines and they have to process them by hand. If you don't take them off then you need to cover them with a sticker or tape. I am not sure if this is true for all post offices but I thought
I would pass on some helpful info. I hope every body is having a good day.

From Shannon To Anne-Mette

Anne-Mette your flowers are on the way. I had fun making these flowers. They are made from fabric I have had for a long time. They have good memories attached to them. Here are some very tiny sneak peeks.

Sorry this one is blurry, just adds to the mystery! LOL!

Need to "resign"

I know it seems like I just got here, but I need to take myself off the swap list. Life has gotten complicated and I'm afraid I won't be able to keep my end of the swap bargain for some time to come. I apologize and wish everyone happy swapping!

March Flower from Melody

While I was on holiday in NZ, a lovely hexie flower from Melody arrived - it really is beautiful and I love the way she has fussy cut it. Thank you Mel! :-)

Now as I knew I was going away for five weeks, I thought I would be super organised and make some hexies ahead of time. Of course the hazard of going away means that my 'list' of what I've made and who to send to, seems to have gone awol during my darling hubbies tidy up! Now I think these three flowers below I made for February and March and also a thank you hexie... If only I could find that list! I'm fairly sure I didn't do one for April...so need to find the list asap, in order to get cracking. I will do some more hunting tomorrow.

Blooms from Australia

These lovely flowers arrived in my mailbox yesterday from Geniene in Australia.  The colors are perfect, and they are a beautiful addition to my garden.  Thanks Geniene!
I am happy that we have voted to send two hexies a month, as I have been sending and receiving two the last couple of months.  I love making them, and I love getting mail that does not contain a bill!  It's also nice to get a lovely variety of fabrics.

Counting my blessings.... Sunny

What hexagons also can be used for ....

Perhaps you already noticed if you have visited my blogspot ? :o) Otherwise here you can see how a spoiled dog can be happy for a handsewed and handquilted bedspread made with hexagons, smaller than those we swap. The edge is ½ inch.

July 2011

I have been getting e-mail from everywhere asking to join our swap. I am such a softy, I could not refuse anyone. So, from July 2011 I will adding to our group.

One interested hexaculturalist is from Croatia. Stanislava loves hexies and has made this divine quilt. I love how she has separated the flowers with a solid.
